How to Get Express Entry to Canada?

Are you looking to immigrate to Canada quickly? Then you should apply for an Express Entry. However, it does not guarantee that every person can immigrate through the Express Entry system. It takes only a few months for families and individuals to immigrate to Canada through the Express Entry program.

Below-mentioned explains how to get Express Entry to the country:

1.Identify eligibility

To apply for the Express Entry program, applicants are required to be eligible under any of the below-mentioned federal immigration programs:

  • The Canadian Experience Class (CEC)
  • The Federal Skilled Trades Class (FSTC)
  • The Federal Skilled Worker Class (FSWC)

Additionally, all applicants must have a minimum of one year of professional work experience, including having a certain level of proficiency in either French or English. The Canadian government also does background checks on all the Express Entry applicants to ensure they do not have any prior criminal history or serious medical issues that could make them ineligible to apply for this immigration program.

2.The applicant must create an Express Entry profile

Individuals eligible for the Express Entry must create a profile and submit it to the pool of candidates. Based on their profile, they will receive a score and be ranked amongst the other candidates present in the pool. The score is around 1200 points. The higher the applicant's score, the more likely they are to receive the Express Entry Invitation to Apply (ITA). The ranking is based on the individuals' education, language skills, previous employment history etc.

3.Create a bank profile for the job

Express Entry applicants who do not have a job offer must create and register themselves in the Canada job bank. The Canadian job banks assist in identifying workers for Canadian employers based on the company's skills and requirements. As of 2017, this has become optional.

4.Try to improve your CRS score

Suppose you are an applicant in the candidate pool that has not been selected for the Express Entry. In that case, you can submit new and updated information such as your increased language score, education credentials, adding more work experience to improve your CRS score, giving you a better shot in qualifying for the Express Entry.

5.Submit your application for permanent residency

If you have received an Invitation to Apply (ITA), you will be given a minimum of sixty days to submit a complete application for permanent residency. In this application, you will be required to provide more personal information, including necessary supporting documentation. The application will be submitted online only.

Once you have submitted your application, it will take around six months, sometimes even less, to determine if your application has been approved. Upon approval, you will receive permission to activate your PR status in the country. Let Star Immigration help you with all your Express Entry needs.
